Exploring the world of the horse for more insights on how we ourselves can be happier and healthier.
The wellbeing benefits of being around horses are well accepted, and Equine Therapy, with qualified psychologists, takes this a stage further to treat anxiety, depression, addictions and attachment issues and trauma-related syndromes.
Dr. Kirsty Newbury and Dr Jonathan Smy (HCPC Registered Psychologists specialising in Equine-Assisted Therapy) have joined us to deliver Equine Therapy sessions (either in a group or bespoke).
___________
Adults - Equine Assisted Therapy Group
A 6-week equine-assisted therapy programme, run by Dr Kirsty Newbury and Dr Jonathan Smy, which will be delivered in groups of up to 10.
This intervention allows participants to explore their feelings, emotions and relationships in collaboration with a horse and trained professionals. The sessions will explore emotional well-being and nervous system regulation, relationships and connections with others, trust, boundaries, physical and psychological safety. Participants will learn through experience and psychoeducation in the sessions, which will involve some structured tasks with the horses, as well as unstructured observations and interactions. All work is done on the ground with no riding, and the horses can freely interact with the participants within a dedicated space.
To express an interest please email therapy@ealingridingschool.net and we will contact you to discuss next steps. Please note that we need a minimum of 4 participants for the group to run.
