- Dressage Anywhere (3 week course) on 3rd, 10th and 18th December from 18:00-19:00 for up to 4 members to include filming session in week 3
Dressage Anywhere www.dressageanywhere.com is an online competition platform where riders film a dressage test in their own arena and submit it for official judging. This allows riders to gain meaningful competition-style feedback without the pressure, cost or logistics of travelling to a show.
Why it’s beneficial?
- Receive accredited judge feedback to guide your training Build confidence without competition nerves
- Track and measure your progress across the winter
- Use judge comments to shape your next lesson and improve test accuracy
Each session will help riders prepare, practice sections of the test, and understand how to ride for higher marks on film and then your coach will film the final test. - Jumping Course (3 week course) on 7th, 14th and 21st January from 18:00-19:00
This structured course runs across 3 consecutive Wednesdays and focuses on improving your technical jumping foundations. Each week builds on the previous one, guiding you towards a more consistent jumping round. The two main skills we will be focusing on include:
POWER INTO TURNS
A turn will naturally sap your power—especially if you’re not used to riding up around your turns—so it’s essential to prepare for your corners and turns and maintain activity around the bend whilst still having enough power to jump from.
STEER THE OUTSIDE
Open the door to where you want to go with the inside rein but control the line with your outside rein and outside leg. Steering with dominant use of the inside rein often results in losing the outside shoulder and an unbalanced approach. Instead, create a boundary wall with the outside rein, supported by your outside leg to give a straighter approach, more powerful, connected canter with control of the shoulders and a more confident line to the fence.
Master these two skills, and every approach—from cross poles to oxers—will feel more predictable, balanced and effective. - BHS Ride Safe Silver Challenge Award (3 week course) on 10th, 17th and 24th January at 16:00-17:30
Essential for anyone progressing through the BHS system. This qualification is mandatory for riders wishing to take higher-level BHS exams beyond stage 1. It covers road safety, hazard awareness, best practices for riding in public spaces on the road and how to confidently navigate different environments on horseback. We recommend this for anyone wanting to hack out with us on our Cholsley farm adventures.
